Have
you booked your program for next year yet?
You may already be too late
for your perfect dates! Our 2001 calendar filled with record speed.
We are booked almost solid from early February through August!
We still have several dates
available in the fall. October, November, and even December are actually
great times to come to MarineLab. The water is still nice and warm
from the summer, and cold fronts - if there are any - are mild and fleeting.
Remember, a cold front in the fall in the Keys means the air temperature
drops to 80 degrees F!

Schools Taking Advantage of MarineLab's Advanced Program
MarineLab's advanced program,
first introduced a little over a year ago, is attracting more schools each
season as teachers realize that students want to return and do more marine
science with us!
Advanced programs incorporate
more information on coral reef ecology, data gathering and bottom mapping
activities, population studies of reef fish, and other hands-on studies.
We can also offer an advanced
program incorporating SCUBA diving for high school students who have their
SCUBA certification and have already attended a MarineLab program.
Valparaiso High School and Merrillville High School, both of Indianapolis,
are bringing students for an advanced SCUBA program for the third year
in a row.
Any advanced program is subject
to the following prerequisites:
-
ALL participants, not just most,
must have been through a regular MarineLab program
-
Our regular program's boat size
restrictions still apply
-
The previous MarineLab trip
must have included a Rodriguez Key field trip
