Former NASA Astronaut Dr. Mike Gernhardt will join ocean pioneer and MRDF Founder Ian Koblick and Dr. Joe Dituri to address the similarities of living on the sea floor in underwater habitats and orbiting above the Earth’s oceans while living aboard NASA’s Endeavor Space Shuttle. Dr. Gernhardt and Koblick participated in the world’s second InnerSpace to OuterSpace communication in 1995 along with Astronaut/Aquanaut Scott Carpenter, who had been part of the first sea to space communication in 1965 when he spoke from 205’ below the surface in the Sealab project to astronaut Gordon Cooper in orbit around the Earth.
